Its been too long since the last post. In the interim, I was a turtle for halloween, which I enjoyed spending in Hoboken with cousin Sam (who was Woody from Toy Story). Thanksgiving was awesome with the folks from VA and NJ coming to visit. Pictures from both will be coming soon.
The big news is that I can get on all fours now - for the past 3 weeks or so. I have loved slithering backwards, especially under the couch. And over the past couple of days I have figured out how to slither / inch my way forward. Mom and Dad were excited to see this as was Darla, my teacher at Wee Care, this morning.
To top it off, I have a tooth! Mom didn't even notice it! (although I had been trying to tell her!) The car salesman at Honda pointed it out. Obviously, mom was a little disappointed the discovery happened so undramatically, but she soon forgot when she drove our new set of wheels off the lot.

Pink Medicine
How I've spent my time over the past couple of weeks:
Practicing my tough guy look
Hanging out in the park with Nannan
On the bed with Stagger Lee
Meeting Uncle Jeremy!
Falling asleep on Dad's shoulder
Smiling for the camera
Playdate with the local Indian Queen boys Trast and River. Surprisingly, Trast's fingers don't taste as good as my own.
It's been a while since the last post. So what's new? We are all settling in with our new schedules since dad went back to work. I am enjoying daycare and meeting lots of new friends like Noah and Kevin. Kevin was playing with a soft block toy this morning while we were hanging out on our tummies. It looked so enticing that I took it from him - he didn't seem to mind much or so it seemed to mom. One day she might discipline me for this kind of behavior but for now, anything goes.
In the middle of my stream of consciousness babbling, I have been caught saying "Dada" - once yesterday and once today. Dad is really excited but I really don't get why.
I have been sick over the past 2 weeks - from a cold and congestion, to a cough, to the beginnings of an ear infection. Dr. Decosta gave me some really really really really good pink medicine, and I am feeling much better.

Naptime
Desmond and I took an afternoon nap together yesterday, my day off. I had forgotten how nice it is and how important to just stop thinking of that master to do list, tune out, lay down and listen to my son breathe and dream. I cuddled him next to me as we drifted off, he nursing from time to time, side-by-side and it was the sweetest feeling. How different then at 6 weeks, when he was so little I was afraid to fall asleep with him so close. He is such the little boy now - grabbing his feet, putting everything in his mouth, giggling over and over at funny sounds and big kisses on his belly and arms.
The adjustment to a full time (or nearly) work schedule, commuting, Desmond's daycare schedule, and still trying to take care of myself (manicure anyone?), eat well, and relax with Patrick and Des is a balancing act. I have to learn to let the house go sometimes (and not be overwhelmed by such a state) and focus on my family - still an unfamiliar word despite how wonderful our little one has become with the addition of Desmond. I have to remember to take the time to fully focus on him for an hour or two without a single distraction. - while he still lets me.

16 lbs 12 oz and 26"
Last Thursday, the pediatrician weighed and measured me - at 16lbs 12oz and 26" (82nd and 85th percentile respectively), no wonder i am in size 3 diapers! Dad took me to the doctor's and I upset him a little by how much I cried with my shots. I could hear my friend River crying next door too (it was his day for shots too). Worn out, i slept all day and ate erratically. I am now finally feeling back to normal.
Last Friday, mom dropped me off at Daycare - the first time she had taken me. I was cranky and tired and cried a little when she dropped me off. Although I ended up having so much fun there, I hear that mom was upset with a heavy heart all day. I could tell she was really excited to see me that night - I was just hungry (I missed her a little too, I'll admit)!

Happy Birthday
I am 4 months old today! And Bonne Mamy and Grandpa just celebrated their 40th Anniversary - congratulations! I just spent a fantastic 4 days with my grandma out in the country while mom and dad had the upstairs floors refinished. They have been working pretty hard getting all the furniture back in place, and I have been working hard playing and singing and reading and taking nice woodland walks.

Diapers
Per the request of Darla, my new caretaker at Wee Care day care, I have been upgraded to Size 3 diapers. Whew! the wiggle room! I think Mom and Dad were in denial of how big I am getting. Weigh in is next Thursday at the doctor's. We'll see then how much I've grown!
